Résumé
I build the data tools behind clinical research platforms: production APIs, analysis pipelines, and the visualization layer on top. My work turns real-world clinical data into evidence that sponsors, clinicians, and patient advocacy organizations act on. PhD in biomedical sciences, nine peer-reviewed publications, and a studio art background that shows up in every chart I ship.
Experience
Senior Data Scientist, PicnicHealth
Oct 2023 — Present
Analytics infrastructure and client-facing visualization for real-world clinical research. Joined via PicnicHealth's acquisition of AllStripes.
- Designed, built, and maintain a production R Plumber API and the 70+ visualizations, tables, and metrics it serves, spanning 50+ clinical research programs
- Author the R analysis layer behind those outputs: statistical computation, cohort filtering, endpoint derivation, and longitudinal aggregation
- Own the full visualization path end to end: SQL across PostgreSQL and BigQuery, the R transformation and analysis logic, and the Plotly figure construction served through the API and rendered via Plotly React in a client-facing Sponsor Portal
- Built and maintain the internal R packages and visualization standards that biostatistics and data science build on, giving the team a shared plotting layer and consistent visual design
- Led design and implementation of real-time study analytics dashboards in R Shiny and Retool for commercial, delivery, and product teams
- Established visualization standards and a component-level design system now used across data and product teams
- Partnered with engineering, product, and design to define and ship new visualizations spanning enrollment tracking through clinical endpoints
- Built tooling that gave non-coding stakeholders direct access to analytics previously gated behind engineering requests
Founder & Lead Engineer, Spread Technologies, LLC
Feb 2026 — Present
Solo-built allergen-aware event planning application, closed alpha at spreadapp.co. Incorporated in Colorado, May 2026.
- Designed and shipped a cross-platform application in React Native, Expo, and TypeScript with a responsive web build deployed to Cloudflare Pages
- Built the full Postgres backend on Supabase: schema design, row-level security, authentication, and user-private versus event-scoped data models
- Modeled a structured ingredient and allergen vocabulary with normalization and mapping logic, applying the same curation methodology used for clinical vocabularies
- Integrated Stripe, transactional email, and CI/CD through EAS Build to TestFlight
Senior Manager, Data Insights, AllStripes
Jun 2021 — Oct 2023
Rare disease analytics, visualization, and scientific communication. Promoted twice from Scientific Affairs Associate.
- Took over analysis and visualization for two Orphanet Journal of Rare Diseases publications and drove both through submission to publication, serving as corresponding author on one
- Built interactive dashboards in R Shiny and Plotly Dash; produced publication-grade reports with R and Adobe Illustrator
- Defined SQL logic and medical vocabularies (ICD-10, SNOMED, LOINC) to curate rare disease patient cohorts
- Assessed EHR data quality using SQL and R, improving vocabulary mapping confidence and patient deduplication beyond demographic matching
- Conducted longitudinal medical record reviews to construct comprehensive patient case studies
- Collaborated with epidemiologists and clinicians to define research endpoints and collection strategies
- Designed patient-facing "care resumes" and data insights features
- Presented findings to patient advocacy organizations via community insights reports, webinars, and conferences
- Developed internal R functions and visual design standards adopted across the analytics team
Graduate Research Assistant, Colorado State University
May 2015 — May 2021
Neuroscience research, quantitative imaging analysis, and scientific communication.
- Led multiple projects investigating astrocyte–neuron interactions using advanced imaging (SRRF, single-particle tracking) and primary cell culture
- Built custom analysis pipelines in MATLAB, ImageJ, and R to extract quantitative insights from 2D and 3D imaging data
- Cloned and validated 30+ DNA constructs over five years for live-cell imaging experiments
- First-author work contributed to a funded NIH R01 (1R01NS112365-01A1)
- Created and taught "Adobe Illustrator for STEM," a workshop on figure design and graphical abstracts
- Organized the Front Range Neuroscience Group Annual Meeting (2015–2018), coordinating 200+ attendees, speakers, and all print and digital media
- Twice awarded Best Graduate Student Poster, Front Range Neuroscience Meeting
